Marinduque shouts Viva Biggel!

(Biggel's Homecoming was shown today in the afternoon edition of PBB Uber 2010 together with his segment, "Boy  Perstaym", that also became trending topic worldwide at no. 9.)

That's Joseph Emil Biggel the hometown boy who flew to Manila in October of last year as possible contender for the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother Season 4.
Biggel won, returning as 3rd Big Placer in that popular show that drew more than 30,000 auditioners from all over the country.
He is called by friends as "Joseph", "Seph" or "Biggel", the name printed in all his basketball jerseys.  Biggel is a familiar face in his town's basketball tournaments as member of the Banot Team from his barangay. Above photo shows Gasenos welcoming their favorite son in his much-awaited homecoming after the Big Night, last March 31st.

Biggel became a byword not only in Marinduque but in many places nationwide and in different countries where the Pinoy Big Brother show is watched by Filipino overseas workers.
Gasan town organized the holding of an official "Putong" welcome ritual for Biggel and his family.
Biggel's homecoming was covered for television by the ABS-CBN crew.
Putong is a very old ritual of thanksgiving handed down from generation to generation in this small island-province known for its peaceful and laid-back ambience.
"Putong" is a song-dance-prayer ritual performed for the honorees that they may live a long life of happiness, good health and prosperity. Children scamper to pick up coins tossed by men and women as a symbol of good luck and prosperity.
Biggel is crowned King for a day, together with family members who
must also share his blessings.
Lit candles are for enlightenment, the crown (made of woven nito vine
with a miniature morion carving and feathers), for wisdom.
"Viva, Viva, Viva Buhayin, Buhayin, Buhayin ang Santong Pinutungan namin", they sing.
So Biggel is both BoyKing and Saint for today.
VIVA BIGGEL! They shout amid a shower of petals and confetti.
"Kayo po ang aking unang-unang inspirasyon sa Bahay ni Kuya", Biggel stresses here in his remarks amid loud cheers and applause!
