LAV's tree-planting in Malibago, Torrijos

More than 300 students of Marinduque State College (College of Agriculture), in Torrijos and Torrijos Poblacion School of Arts and Trades (TPSAT), will join together in a tree-planting activity on Saturday, June 23rd. This will be held at a designated site in a mountainous area in Brgy. Malibago, Torrijos.

This is part of Congressman Lord Allan Velasco’s program for recipients of the educational assistance grant out of the lawmaker’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). Recipients of similar grants from other sources tapped by Velasco have also been enjoined to participate in similar forthcoming activities.

Tree-planting activities will be undertaken in all the other Marinduque municipalities as part of a program being vigorously undertaken by members of Leaders and Achievers of Velasco (LAV) program, as their volunteer climate-change adaptation initiative in Marinduque.

Malibago, located at the foot of Malindig on the westerly side of Torrijos
is known for its cool breeze even in summer.

The LAV tree-planting program is being conducted in partnership with the Marinduque Congressional District Office that provides the funds in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for technical support.
