NTC ASKS PUBLIC TO REJECT ELECTION RESULTS

A broadbased group said yesterday that massive fraud is imminent in tomorrow’s elections as the Aquino administration and the ruling Liberal Party (LP) turns desperate amid the huge possibility that President Aquino’s anointed will lose at the polls after effort to form a last-minute coalition failed.

Saying the May 9 national and local elections are heavily tainted with anomalies even before they even started, the National Transformation Council (NTC) asked the Filipino electorate to reject whatever the outcome of Monday’s polls and instead work for the realization of a just and responsive alternative to the elections.

Speaking before the media at the weekly news forum at Annabelle’s Restaurant in Quezon City, the NTC, through former Sen. Francisco “Kit” Tatad, bared that latest developments have validated the Aquino administration’s sinister plot to rig the elections and deprive the Filipino people of their sacred right to choose their leader.

According to Tatad, their group have received reports that nine SD Card configuration centers have been set up by still unidentified parties without authorization from the Comelec and without the knowledge of the political parties and the public, “for purposes on which we can only speculate.”

Tatad added they also received reports that pre-shaded ballots in favor of a particular presidential and vice presidential candidates were retrieved from the National Printing Office (NPO), casting serious doubts on the integrity and validity of the bulk of the official ballots to be used in tomorrow’s political exercise.

“(And) since the hacking of the Comelec website on March 27, there has been no official report to explain why the voters’ list attacked by the hackers contained 70 million voters when the official total claimed by the Comelec is only 54.3 million voters,” said Tatad.

Aside from the reports of cheating they have received, Tatad said other reasons why the results of Monday’s poll should be rejected is the fact the Comelec had failed institute major security measures as provided for by law.

“In our statement on April 29, 2016, we expressed serious concern about the probable failure of the May 9, 2016 elections as a result of the visible efforts of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), its Venezuelan partner, Smartmatic and the various presidential parties to manipulate the electoral process for their own ends,” said Tatad reading from a prepared statement.

“Today, we must confess that even before the voting has begun, the elections have already turned out to be a defective, fraudulent, illegal and illegitimate exercise which poses an incalculable threat to the security of the State and the wellbeing of the nation,” he added.

“All available evidence shows that the principal cause and instigator of the ongoing electoral manipulations is President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino himself, in his overriding desire to dictate the results of the presidential and vice presidential contest,” Tatad averred. - Full story on Daily Tribune
