The Province of Marinduque pays its respect to the Hon. Aquilino Quilinging Pimentel, Jr. by lowering the Philippine flag at half-mast at the provincial capitol for the last three days.
In Gov. Presbitero Velasco, Jr.'s facebook page, is stated in part: "We will forever honor his existence and vital contribution to the Local Government. From all the Officers and Staff of the Marinduque Provincial Government, our utmost condolence to the bereaved Family."
In a separate statement, Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco has also joined the nation in mourning the passing of the former Senate president. "For us in Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), the party which he founded, he was not just a mentor but a game changer who helped strengthen the country's local government system", the lawmaker said.
"We shall be forever grateful for your legacy and contribution in championing democracy, electoral reforms and devolution of powers for stronger local governance. May your family and loved ones find strength in our dear Lord in this very difficult time," he added.
