With Speaker Lord Allan Velasco at the helm, the House of Representatives processed a total of 185 measures, including seven Republic Acts and 20 House Bills that will hopefully be signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte before year-end. These Bills include the 2021 General Appropriations Bill which would help Filipinos recover from the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, already signed by the President as of today. Eighty-three bills were likewise approved on final reading and await Senate action.
Within two months since Speaker Velasco’s election as House
Speaker, the House likewise acted upon and approved several SONA priority
measures that will help President Duterte fulfill his promises to the Filipino
people. These are the proposed Security of Tenure Act, amendment to the
Anti-Money Laundering Act, proposed Internet Transactions Act, and the Coconut
Levy Trust Fund Bill.
