Gov. Presby Velasco revisits Vision and Mission for Marinduque with NGAs, CSO, LGUs and department heads

'Revisiting of the Vision and Mission for the Province of Marinduque' is a 2-day workshop (August 6-7), called for by Gov. Presby Velasco with officers and representatives of the different national government agencies (NGAs), civil society orgs (CSOs), representatives from the municipal LGUs, provincial departments and provincial board members in attendance.

Rolly Larracas, Senior Executive Assistant discussed on the first day the Executive-Legislative Agenda formulation process. He also presented Gov. Presbitero Velasco's 5-pronged development principles namely:  Sustainable management of environment and natural resources and use of ecosystem services; People empowerment and reliance; Strong public-private partnership; Social justice and protection; and Good governance, public accountability and transparency.

Provincial administrator, Mike Velasco conveyed the message of the governor who was expected to highlight his development thrusts and priorities for the province the following day.

In his presentation, Larracas stressed that the national government's program, "Ambisyon Natin 2040- matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay para sa lahat" is consistent with Governor Velasco's "Simpleng Pangarap ng Ama ng Lalawigan" that envisions: "Maayos na pagkain, tubig, disente at payapang tirahan at kapaligiran; Maayos na kalusugan - kung magkakasakit man, may maasahang institusyon  tulad ng hospital; Makapagbigay ng oportunidad na mapag-aral and mga anak at mabigyan ng maayos na kinabukasan nang sa gayon din, satamang panahon ay makapag-ambag para sa ikabubuti ng lalawigan at ng bansa bilang responsableng mamamayan."

Also during the workshop, the results of Cong. Lord Allan Velasco's earlier dialogue with the provincial government department heads were presented, with his own recommendations and commitments with emphasis on agriculture, tourism and health matters.

On the second day of the workshop, in a wide-ranging discussion, representatives from the national agencies took turns in presenting to the governor ongoing and pipelined or funded projects including their plans and programs for the province with the chief executive of the province conveying his immediate response and making his own remarks.

The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) through Ms. Marian Cunanan, head of the department will be issuing a report on the successful outcome of the workshop that elicited vigorous and very positive response from all the participants.
