working our way there. We are currently facing a pandemic, nay a terrible war. Even with that crisis coupled with tremendous
challenges, the last year proves that whatever we set our minds to accomplish,

Marinduque Waterworks System
"… your Governor has entered into an agreement with Governor
Pepito Alvarez of Palawan for the feasibility study of the Marinduque waterworks
system. The work is pro bono. Last February 2020, the Palawan engineering team was able to finish the study and they
submitted the Marinduque waterworks plan. It necessitates the project cost of
1.6 billion pesos which can be procured from the Department of Finance loan
funds payable in 20 years but can be liquidated in 11 years. Wary of loans, your Governor has started
entertaining proposals for PPP arrangement where the PGM will not obtain loans
anymore. We are awaiting SP action on the authority to the Governor to
negotiate for a loan or enter into a PPP agreement so the undersigned can
buckle down to work. .."
Triple A slaughterhouse, 6 fish landing facilities
"…Magtatayo ng triple A slaughterhouse para sa export ng
ating mga kambing, matatapos na ang 6 na fish landing facilities sa anim na
bayan. Bibilhin na ang innovative na bangka na may LED light na pang attract ng
mga isda para madaling makahuli ang ating mga mangingisda…"
PCA nursery, coco oil mill facility for virgin coconut oil
"… Matatayo na ang nursery ng PCA sa Torrijos at Mogpog.; may
itatayong coco oil mill at facility para
sa MCT virgin coconut oil sa tulong ng Philippine Coconut Authority. Magkakaroon ng massive replanting ng bagong
breed na coconut trees…."
Napocor to provide more power gensets; Ongoing and future breakthrough projects
"… Through the intiatives of Cong. Lord Allan Jay Q. Velasco,
the Power Summit produced the firm commitments of Napocor and DOE to fully
address the nagging problem of erratic and insufficient supply of energy.
Napocor pledged to endorse the 69 KV facility to Marelco; provide the 4MW gen set in 3rd quarter of 2020
to replace the old and inefficient power barge; provide the 5MW gen set in late 2020 or early
2021 to add more energy capacity…"
Gov. Velasco also bared the support and initiatives of Cong. Lord Allan Velasco in relation to ongoing and future breakthrough projects. Among them, the Marinduque Export Zone and Balogo International Port that involves expropriation of the Marcopper mine site and port, the expansion of Marinduque Domestic Airport that will be opened to regional flights from Asia and the Pacific. This also includes a Mega Bridge connecting Marinduque and Quezon province and the Marinduque submarine cable interconnection between Sta. Cruz and Gen. Luna.

Marinduque Centennial 2020 showcased our creativity and fostered camaraderie

culture and recognize successful Marinduquenos. The week-long celebration
showcased our creativity and fostered camaraderie among our people. As what
I’ve mentioned during our Centennial night, we are what we are today because of
all of you. Let us celebrate the victories and learn from the failures…"

Fighting Covid-19
"… Nakita po natin kung paano nilumpo ng krisis na ito ang napakaraming lugar at industriya. With the untiring efforts of our Provincial Covid-19 Task Force headed by PA Mike Velasco and Dr. Gerry Caballes, we weren’t as badly hit as other provinces. We were able to provide food, personal protective equipment, disinfectants, relief goods and other things vital in our fight against Covid-19. We have mobilized our personnel to strictly implement the safety and quarantine protocols recommended by our local Covid-19 Task Force through Executive Orders from my office…"
