Marinduque classified as area under "low risk" MGCQ; DOT releases guidelines for meetings, conventions under MGCQ

Gov. Velasco meets with airline and airport officials as well as health officials and the PNP in connection with the reopening of Cebu Pacific flights in Marinduque.

The province of Marinduque is now classified as an area under "low risk" MGCQ.

MGQC is divided into two categories: one which requires “strict local action” including zoning, localized community quarantine, strict enforcement or minimum health standards, and scale up of health systems; and the other category, which classifies areas as “low risk,” according to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

Meanwhile, DOT has released guidelines for meetings, conventions and the like in areas under MGCQ.

In a related development, Marinduque Governor Presby Velasco, Jr. recently met with officers from Cebu Pacific Air, Inc., Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the Municipal Health Offices in the province and the Philippine National Police (PNP), in connection with the reopening of Cebu Pacific flights in Marinduque.

DOT releases guidelines

MANILA - The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Wednesday released guidelines on the operations of meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) in the country under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

The DOT has set a venue capacity limit of 50% including suppliers, exhibitors, and operators, adding that only those from MGCQ and quarantine-free areas are allowed to take part in such events.

MICE organizers and facilities are also required to comply with public health standards set by relevant agencies.

The DOT said any violation of its guidelines will result in the revocation of a MICE entity's accreditation, on top of other fines and penalties. - ABS-CBN News
