World Teachers Day celebrated in Boac

 Boac Mayor Roberto M. Madla pays tribute to the Boac teachers. 

The Boac Municipal PTA Federation spearheaded today’s celebration of World Teachers Day at the Boac Covered Court. The day is held annually on October 5 since 1994 to mobilize support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.


For the Boac teachers’ unwavering dedication to impart knowledge and skills to their pupils, the Municipal Government of Boac and the Supreme Pupils Government joined in the celebration.

World Teachers’ Day was inaugurated on 5th October 1994 by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). In a speech read for Cong. Lord Allan Velasco during the Boac affair by Ms. Florida Calupig, the legislator also paid tribute to Mrs. Mariam B. Rivamonte of Sta. Cruz, Marinduque who was recently chosen as one of the winners, the first awardee from Marinduque, in the 2012 Metrobank Search for Outstanding Teachers.
