Velasco's projects in Boac


 Video on barangay priority projects of Cong. Lord Allan Velasco in the municipality of Boac as of November 2012. These projects are funded under the DPWH budget and other official sources.They include national and barangay farm-to-market road concreting, school buildings, multi-purpose building construction, flood control, river revetment, water supply systems, etc. Such projects are undertaken in accordance with priorities set by the barangay government units themselves. Similar projects are undertaken simultaneously in the other five municipalities of Marinduque province to catch up on tourism and the economic development of this beautiful tropical island.

Alongside health, education and scholarship programs, the funding of small and medium enterprises and implementation of social services and livelihood programs,such projects  and programs are undertaken by Velasco in close cooperation with implementing agencies. Among these are these are the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Department of Agriculture, the National Electrification Administration, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the municipal governments in the province, the Department of Health, Department of Education and educational institutions such as Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Marinduque State College and private academic institutions like Educational Systems Technological Institute, Marinduque Midwest College, St. Mary's College of Marinduque and Sta. Cruz Institute.

Covered Pathway in Isok I funded under the DPWH Outside Infrastructure - PDAF. It covers 181.2 linear meter of covered pathway located along Marinduque National High School and Don Luis Hidalgo Memorial School in Isok I, Boac, Marinduque.


Construction/Repair of Multi-Purpose Building are likewise funded under Velasco's PDAF. Above photo is the Isok II Barangay Hall, also with installation of plumbing fixtures and painting undertaken by the DPWH.

Velasco's infra projects in Sta. Cruz and Torrijos

The construction of Sta. Cruz Sports Complex located in Brgy. Baliis, Sta. Cruz, is a continuing priority development project of the Municipal Government of Sta. Cruz spearheaded by Mayor Percy Morales in cooperation with Cong. Lord Allan Velasco. Initial funding for the project was obtained through Velasco’s PDAF and other sources such as Cong. Sambar’s PDAF, a recent Marinduque visitor. Infrastructure projects such as covered courts already completed in the towns of Sta. Cruz funded through Velasco’s PDAF or from other sources tapped by him such as senatorial and other congressional PDAFs, include cover courts completed in barangays Banahaw, Lapu-Lapu, Matalaba, Tawiran (in Sta. Cruz) and barangays Bonliw and Malinao in Torrijos. 
Road projects continue to be undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), as well as farm-to-market road projects in various parts of Sta. Cruz and Torrijos, as well as the other towns in Marinduque. Other barangay projects prioritized by the concerned barangay councils with requests for funding coursed through Velasco are for multi-purpose buildings, classrooms, revetment and water supply systems.

Cong. Velasco's barangay projects in Gasan

Gasan's ABC Hall

In the town of Gasan, Marinduque improvement of the Gasan ABC Hall through the construction of a third floor funded through Cong. Lord Allan Velasco’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), construction of Pinggan Covered Court, construction of a classroom in Banuyo Elementary School,  and various farm-to-market road concreting projects in identified barangays, have been undertaken by the DPWH from the same fund source. Improvement of barangay multi-purpose buildings are in various stages of implementation alongside installation of water supply systems.

For the 1st tranche of PDAF 2012, bids and awards have been concluded by end of July and beginning of this month of September 2012 by the DPWH. Some of these projects are farm-to-market roads in Gasan (Antipolo, Dili), Boac (Tampus, Bangbangalon, Buliasnin, Tugos, Maybo), Mogpog (Silangan, Mendez, Laon, Market-Site to Janagdong), Buenavista ( Daykitin, Bicas-Bicas), multi-purpose buildings in Boac (Cawit, Tabi, San Miguel), Gasan (Bangbang, Mahunig), Buenavista (Brgy. Cuatro, Tungib-Lipata, Brgy. Dos, Malbog) and Torrijos (Malibago).

More infra projects in Mogpog

A Barangay Resolution was forwarded by the Office of the Sangguniang Barangay of Mataas na Bayan, Mogpog, one of numerous similar resolutions thanking Cong. Lord Allan Velasco for projects undertaken in their respective barangays. The said Mataas-na-Bayan resolution expressed thanks for the completion of the rip-rapping in Quezon St., Purok Ilang-Ilang, Mataas na Bayan in Mogpog, Marinduque.

Marinduque flood control/revetment projects under Cong. Velasco

Repair and maintenance of some 31 flood control and revetment projects in the island-province of Marinduque have been undertaken by the DPWH from funds sourced by Congressman Velasco. Main function of such revetments is to protect the collapse of riverbanks due to erosion, scouring or riverbed degradation. Some of these projects are shown in these photos.
