Marcopper damage suit in Nevada: Motions from the Parties, Orders from the Court

Stipulated status report filed by the parties (electronically filed June 10, 2013 at the Supreme Court of Nevada). Among others the parties informed the Court that settlement discussions are ongoing; that it has taken longer than anticipated as discussions have been slowed by the current election season; that "the most fruitful dialogue will be had after the Province's period of transition is completed, to allow additional new officials to more fully participate in settlement discussions".

Stipulated motion for stay dated November 15, 2011. This is an appeal from the parties to allow them to pursue settlement citing among others that "the Parties are now in settlement discussions that they anticipate may lead to a resolution of this matter"; that the Court will be kept informed "whether the Parties settle the matter such that the case may be dismissed, or whether at some point settlement efforts cease and the stay should be lifted". In this document, the Parties requested the Court to approve the stipulation.

The Court's response. Order from the Supreme Court of Nevada dated Dec. 5, 2011, granting the stipulated motion for stay from the parties so that "they may continue working on settlement negotiations that might lead to resolution of this matter"; and suspending the briefing schedule.

Order from the Court dated July 23, 2013 regarding the latest status report. The Court concluded that the stay should remain in place with appellant to file an updated status report within 60 days.
