4 killed as magnitude 7.2 quake strikes off Bohol, Cebu

Four people were killed in a building collapse when an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 hit 2 km southeast of Carmen, Bohol at 8:12 a.m. on Tuesday (October 15).
The quake was recorded in the website of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) also recorded the quake but put its preliminary magnitude at 7.4, according to a Reuters report.
The deaths were reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (NDRRMC), according to another Reuters report.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii said there was no threat of a Pacific-wide tsunami after the quake.
The quake struck at a depth of about 35 km (22 miles) around Bohol, an island north of Mindanao.
According to a tweet by the Cebu Daily News the quake was felt for over 20 seconds in Cebu" "Books fell off shelf, electric posts and power lines swayed. Aftershocks continue."
The Sun Star Cebu shared on Instagram a photo taken by city consultant Edu Roma of a collapsed structure in Barangay Mambaling, CebuCity.
The structure is the Budget Builders building, where two persons remained trapped, but immediately rescued. according to a tweet by the Cebu Daily News.
One of them is an eight-month-old baby girl, the Cebu Daily News said.
The quake also partially damaged the Pedro Calungsod Chapel, the Cebu Sun Star said in another tweet.
Radio reports from nearby Cebu about 350 km (220 miles) southeast of the capital, Manila, said at least two low-rise buildings had collapsed and that other buildings had been damaged.
