Major major unrest in the Asia-Pacific

There's certainly a major major tectonic and volcanic unrest going on in the Asia Pacific Region. Yesterday, a 6.8M earthquake struck very near the area of Fukushima after a strong 6.3M aftershock hit Nepal following the deadly 7.3M temblor. Daily large tremors continue to disturb Papua New Guinea after the 7.2M a week ago.

Just now, Phivolcs has reported a 5.1M quake hitting Albay (PH) just before midnight, followed by a 4.7M an hour later with epicenters at northeast and southeast of Rapu-rapu, Albay.

Map shows 4.5M and larger earthquakes hitting the Asia-Pacific for the last seven days.

A magnitude-5.1 quake hit Albay province in Bicol shortly before midnight Thursday, with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology warning of possible aftershocks.

Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, with the epicenter at 18 km northeast of Rapu-Rapu in Albay.
