Two years ago:

Barrick’s unwillingness to shoulder the responsibility of ensuring that the environment and people of Marinduque are made secure means that the province’s unfortunate role as the poster child for irresponsible mining, past and present, will surely continue.

President Aquino

Four years ago:
In general, if a community allows mining, then I’ll support it. If the community says we don’t want it then we won’t...
Mas maganda ba yun o mas maganda yung kanya-kanya?

Sa Amerika ho, for instance, yung kanilang strip mining noong araw.
So, babalik ho ako dito, may mga nagmumungkahi total mining ban. Pag total mining doon ho papasok yung small scale. So, merong compromise.
- Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III (Response during the Consultation Forum with CSO, Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, March 23, 2011).
