Candidates file for candidacy for 2016; 400 global CEO's, tycoons meet in Manila

Who are expected to file for candidacy for the 2016 elections?
The period of filing of COCs is from October 12 to 16, from 8 am to 5 pm.

In both national and local races, over 18,000 posts are at stake in the 2016 Philippine elections. This includes the presidency, the vice-presidency and 12 senatorial positions. For the presidential and vice-presidential race, the latest duo to announce that they will run as a tandem are Vice-President Jejomar Binay and his running mate vice-presidential bet Senator Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan II. Both are expected to file their respective certificates of candidacy today, Monday, October 12. Previously, LP presidential bet Manuel "Mar" Roxas II formally announced that Camarines Sur Representative Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo will be his running mate. Survey frontrunner Senator Grace Poe, on the other hand chose Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero as her running mate. Senators Ferdinand Marcos, Allan Peter Cayetano and Antonio Trillanes IV all declared their intention to run for VP even without a tandem. Trillanes made his own team-up by choosing Poe, while Marcos and Cayetano are both eager to partner with Duterte, who until Sunday, October 11, remained undecided on whether or not to run for the presidency.
