Educate yourself: Example of how PH media twists statements

Biased na, nambabaliktad pa! Judy Taguiwalo accuses ABS-CBN of twisting her statement on EJKs to blast Duterte

Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo has accused ABS-CBN of taking advantage of her presence at a forum to corner her on her stand on extrajudicial killings (EJKs) and make it appear she’s an adversary of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Taguiwalo seethed with anger at ABS-CBN News’ article by Ron Gagalac about her statements in an October 6 women’s forum where she was the guest speaker.
ABS-CBN’s online news report, which had the title, “Duterte ally, women’s group’s call for end to drug-related slays,” quoted Taguiwalo as saying that she’s intolerant of EJKs.
“We do not tolerate extrajudicial killings and we are all for due process, and we must strengthen our voice when it comes to promoting humane and compassionate means to end or mitigate the drug problem,” she said.
Taguiwalo cried foul over how her statement was framed in the article as she stressed that she was invited to the forum to talk about the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) programs.
“This is how you are used by people you trust for a prop action against the President when you were just invited to talk about social protection programs and DSWD’s role in the rehabilitation of drug victims,” she said.
“I am so disappointed!! Never again!!” Taguiwalo added. - Politiko

Shaping the News
Last year, veteran CBS newsman Bernard Goldberg shocked the media world with his book, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News. He minced no words in laying out the fundamental problem. "The old argument that the networks and other 'media elites' have a liberal bias is so blatantly true that it's hardly worth discussing anymore," he writes. "No, we don't sit around in dark corners and plan strategies on how we're going to slant the news. We don't have to. It comes naturally to most reporters.... When you get right down to it, liberals in the newsroom see liberal views as just plain... sensible, reasonable, rational views, which just happen to coincide with their own" (emphasis added).

... and speaking of the DSWD Secretary, here's what she further said:
