Due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in Marinduque the MIMAROPA Regional Task Force Against COVID-19 has temporarily suspended the entry of persons not authorized outside of residence (non-APORs) particularly locally stranded individuals (LSIs) in the province beginning 18 December 2020 to 2 January 2021.
This was contained in Joint Resolution No. 41, s. 2020 dated 11 December from the said RegionalTask Force.
In a letter from Gov. Presbitero J.Velasco, Jr. dated 10 December 2020, the Provincial Government of Marinduque requested the temporary suspension.
A DILG Advisory was also issued by Wilhelm M. Suyko, Regional Director and RIATF Chairperson enjoining the Provincial Government of Marinduque to:
Observe the parameters and regulations of the National Government to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19; Ensure to provide the necessary assistance to all those affected due to the imposition of the moratorium and; Cause the widest dissemination of the RIATF-RTF concurrence.
9 Active Cases in Marinduque
An update from the Provincial Health Office of Marinduque meanwhile shows that as of 16 December a total of 9 active cases has been registered, 4 of them from Boac and 5 from Buenavista. PHO has likewise registered the total of cumulative number of cases at 162 cases, 149 local and 13 imported.
