Enrichment of Marinduque culture and arts leads to
empowerment of the young especially those who have passion for singing,
dancing, acting, the visual arts, and production, owing it to the rich culture
and heritage of their hometown that gives them inspiration.
An enthusiastic group of young Marinduqueno artists forward looking and very positive about their response to the call of Gov. Presby Velasco to “help empower the people in our province”, realizing that the arts do empower.
Calling themselves Sinag Marinduque the group is set to make
their presence felt with an initial project, Sinag Singing Champions 2019.
Composed of Aira Salvador, Jing Rellin, Sarah Bacal and other local culture
enthusiasts, they have identified, with the help of the municipalities, some of
the best singers on the island for a showdown on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at
1:30 PM at the Convention Center, Capitol Compound, Santol, Boac, Marinduque.

Bacal and the Mobsters, well-known locally in the field of modern dance will be
performing. To be hosted by Rafa Seno.
By organizing more events of this nature, Sinag hopes
to discover more local talents, help them develop more self-confidence and encourage
them to pursue their dreams.
Sinag Marinduque invites the general public to witness this
very promising singing competition and “you might even win exciting prizes on
our free raffle draws”. First come-first served basis.

Meanwhile, Ragen Anne Penaflor (also known as Angel Penaflor), a local talent from Torrijos, Marinduque won 2 bronze, 2 silver and a gold medal in the recent World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held at Long Beach Performing Arts Center, California, USA.

Ragen Anne's last performance in Marinduque was during the inaugural address of Gov. Presby Velasco. She performed with other local talents, Joseleo Logdat, Sarah Faye Bacal and I Baritoni.

A group from Sultan Kudarat, known as Coalixon Dance Group won the 2019 Senior Grand Champion Dance Group of the World during the same WCOPA Championship.
