For all intents and purposes, no issuance of a proclamation has been issued declaring Monday, September 14, 2009, as special non-working holiday in Marinduque in lieu of the 109th anniversary of the Battle of Pulang Lupa on September 13 which falls on a Sunday.
As a matter of policy, Malacanang does not declare a special non-working holiday on such day, which is already a non-working day. This clarification was made by Ms. Arlyn Reyes of the Office of the Governor, Provincial Government of Marinduque based on a Malacanang statement. Similar requests for the proclamation of the day immediately following the actual date of the event as a non-working holiday have not been granted by Malacanang as a matter of policy.
