VIEWS FROM PULANG LUPA MISSED

View from the Pulang Lupa historical site missed this year. At 5:00 pm the day before yesterday's event , 'Plan B' was executed by the capitol, municipal and army groups in view of the slippery road caused by days of scatered rainshowers brought by typhoon "Nando". By 4:00 am the stage and area surrounding the Torrijos covered court were all set and fully decorated. The overnight transformation was executed by Engr. Rollie Josue of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, the PPDO and PEO workers. Members of the Philippine Army who trooped from Tanay and Calamba to grace the affair were also there early rehearsing their part.

The covered court was packed with people who also missed the Alay-Lakad with capitol employees and all the barangay officials of Torrijos coming in strong. The thanksgiving mass, wreath laying ceremony hosted by the Army, the program with additional cultural numbers mostly coordinated by Jess Briones of OMPSA, put together, were 'perfect' as described by Lt. Jerry Gaviola of the 2nd Infantry Division, PA. He coordinated the Army participation with this blogger who acted as over-all program coordinator. 'Well, almost perfect', I torted back to him.

Guests had lunch at Poctoy White Beach Resort. Surprisingly no rain. It was sunny all day.
Jun Melendez documented the event for posting on this blog site soon.
