It could be confirmed now. One of the three cannons in Boac's Casa Real was cast in 1751. After our discovery last Friday, June 8, of the date embossed on the left trunnion of the cannon with IEC marking on the face of the right trunnion, Engr. Luna Manrique (Boac MPDC) ordered the cleaning of that part of the cannon. The said year, 1751, clearly emerged. This is the biggest cannon there measuring eight feet in length. That makes it one of the oldest, if not the oldest, relics from the Marinduque past, with verifiable date, something left behind by those who came before us - made in Sweden 261 years ago!
