New data: Mga lugar na dinaraanan ng Central Marinduque Fault at iba pang fault sa isla


Sa direksyong southwest malapit sa Mt. Malindig papuntang northeast na bahagi ng Marinduque ang dinaraanan ng tinaguriang Central Marinduque Fault. Ito ay may habang 29.4 kilometros. 

Ang iba pang bahagi ng Marinduque sa northern portion ng Sta. Cruz ay may hiwalay ding fault, gayun din sa karagatan ng Mompong Pass. Sa kanlurang bahagi ng Marinduque ay naroon din ang Lubang Fault na kapag lumindol ng malakas ay ramdam sa mga bahagi ng islang-lalawigan.

Central Marinduque Fault at iba pang faults, kasama na ang offshore fault sa Mompong Pass.

Nitong nakaraang linggo lamang, ito ang naitalang mga lindol na M 4.5 pataas sa dakong ito ng Pacific Ring of Fire. Pinakamalakas ang M6.5 na naramdaman July 6, 2017 sa Central Visayas

Marinduque Faults

Ayon sa Faultfinder ng Phivolcs ang mga susunod ay ang mga lugar sa Marinduque na dinaraanan ng Central Marinduque Fault. Mayroon ding iba pang fault na nakahiwalay sa nasabing fault. Base sa mapa, ito ay nasa Mogpog, Sta. Cruz at Buenavista-Torrijos.

Ang solid line (pula) ayon sa tala ay nangangahulugang 'trace certain' o may katiyakan na naroon ang active fault.

Ang dotted line (pula) ay 'trace in approximate', o malapit doon ang active fault. 

Sa Boac:

 General direction of Binunga, Ogbac, Mainit, Balagasan, Catubugan, Bamban,    Balimbing, Boton, Tagwak, Agot, Apitong 


 General direction of Binunga, Canat, Boi and in the general direction of Tugos.


   General direction of Bayuti, Sabong, Tambunan

Sa Mogpog:


  General direction of Capayang and Nangka II, Janagdong, Sibucao, Danao



   General direction of San Isidro, La Mesa, Aturan, Landy, Lipa and Mompong Pass.

 General direction of Pantayin, Baguidbirin, Matalaba

 General direction of Dolores, Aturan, Baliis

Sa Buenavista at Torrijos

  General direction of Sihi, Bagacay, Bicas-Bicas and Malibago, Talawan at the foot of Mt. Malindig*

 Ito ay para sa karagdagang kaalaman lamang. Mas maigi na ang may kamalayan tungkol dito para makapaghanda kung saka-sakali. At tulad ng mababasa sa mga nakalarawan, the public is advised to consult Phivolcs directly for official hazards assessment.

Mt. Malindig 
*Malindig volcano is an andesitic stratovolcano at the southern tip of Marinduque Island. The summit has sharp peaks. No recent eruptions have occurred. Hot springs are active at its western base.
